2700 pounds for a laptop with RTX 5070 Ti, you already know how much the flagship models will be.

That sounds insane. For a laptop??

5400?

Damn, Nvidia really seems to be pushing the limits with the RTX 5070 ti’s price point, which isn’t great to see.

They should be more straightforward instead of using Ti/Super naming conventions. Ideally, it should be: RTX 5050 8GB > RTX 5060 10GB > RTX 5070 12GB > RTX 5080 16GB > RTX 5090 24GB

@Peyton
Clearly, their strategy is to confuse consumers as much as possible. Just look at the RTX 4070 lineup; so many variants!

So, the RTX 5050, 5060, and 5070 are all going to have 8GB of VRAM? Looks like they’re just binning the cores as they move down the lineup. Thought my RTX 4070 was underperforming, but it seems the 5070 might just be a slightly improved 5050.

@Huxley
They’re introducing some advanced AI upscaling techniques that should compensate, at least for desktop GPUs which run at higher wattages.

I’m waiting to see what AMD does with their mobile GPUs. If AMD offers 8, 12, 16, 20GB of VRAM, it might outperform Nvidia in terms of value.

@Huxley
Have you faced many issues with your 4070, or is it mostly unoptimized games like Indiana Jones causing problems? I’m hoping to run games on 1440p on my new MSI laptop with a 4070.

At 1080p, you should be able to run most games on Ultra with some upscaling. At 1440p, possibly on High or even Ultra with DLSS balanced. The only recent challenge was Indiana Jones, which might be a sign of what to expect in future games with RT.

It’s frustrating that Nvidia is making us buy up to a 5070Ti just to get more than 8GB of VRAM. Whether it’s laptops or desktops, having only 8GB in 2024 feels like a slap in the face, especially with how demanding some games are.

@Drake
That seems to be Nvidia’s strategy, making us focus more on higher-end cards where they make most of their profit.

@Drake
Lol

I’m keeping an eye on the RTX 50 series laptops. Looks like the RTX 5070 TI will come with 12GB of VRAM. I’m really interested in pairing one with an AMD CPU.

Again no 16 inch MiniLED options? Why do they keep pushing IPS and OLED screens?

These listings are just for Asus. I expect Acer Helios and Alienware might offer MiniLED options with higher-end GPUs like the 5080/5090.

Hoping we get an updated model with MiniLED that was featured in the 2022 version.

Put a 5090 GPU in a 14-inch laptop, you cowards!
