Choosing Between Two Laptops - Which Is Superior?

I’m comparing two laptops and would appreciate some feedback on which one might be the better choice. Here is a placeholder for the comparison image:

The Rog model is much better. I have the same model but with a 4060 variant, and it’s built much more solidly than the Omen, which my friend owns. The Omen has hinge issues, whereas the Rog excels in thermal management.

@Westley
I can vouch for that! The build quality and cooling are exceptional.

Bought it two months ago, best purchase I’ve made.

Got mine around Black Friday. We’re laptop twins!

@Kai
It’s such a unique flex to twin with the same laptop model. :stuck_out_tongue:

There’s not much difference between them, mostly just the CPUs. Go for whichever is cheaper if build quality isn’t a dealbreaker for you. Also, consider the cost of upgrading RAM to 32GB.

If you’re looking for something that visually screams gaming, go with Asus. If you prefer something more understated, choose Omen.

@Harley
How’s the cooling on the Legion? I’ve heard mixed reviews about their thermals.

Paying 1.5L for an FHD display isn’t worth it, especially with a 4070 GPU. I’d recommend the HP Omen Transcend 14-inch with a 4060, or the Zephyrus G14 with a 4060 for better value. But if you’re set on a 16-inch 4070 laptop with an FHD screen, then the ROG G16 is a solid choice. Also, check prices at offline stores; they often have better deals.

@Bowie
Can you please explain what FHD means? I’m not familiar with it.

FHD on the Omen is 1920x1080 (16:9). FHD+ on the Strix is 1920x1200 (16:10).

Here are some links to good deals on laptops. Offline stores usually offer them at much lower prices than online.

@Bowie
You can find the Zephyrus for about 1.5L offline, and the Omen for around 1.35-1.4L.

FHD stands for Full High Definition, also known as 1080p. It’s not ideal for a gaming card like the RTX 4070, which is better suited for higher resolutions.

@Bowie
What laptop would you recommend in a price range of $1000-$1300? Thanks for the help; I’ll look into it.

For an RTX 4070, check out the Legion 5i. It has a QHD+ display and is currently on sale. You can get it for 1.4L at offline stores, and for about 1.45L on Amazon with bank offers.

@Bowie
Thanks for all the advice and assistance!

I have the Asus model, and it’s AMAZING! I highly recommend it!
