Could this be a scam? The guy is local to me but it’s a 4080 super for $1600 with a ryzen 9 7900x

Don’t go alone. Take a gun :joy:

Likely not a scam. He also wants to meet in person. Also wrong subreddit homie.

Sorry I thought I posted this to another sub, I was just worried about specs to price comparison this is typically like a 3k prebuilt so I can delete.

@Dalen
Yeah but you can build it for about the price he has it listed. I built a 7800x3d and 4080 super system on release for 1900ish and I spent a bit on aesthetics

Get your assault rifle.

Crazy deal. Take a friend lol

Why are they selling it instead of returning it if things aren’t even unopened? If you’re still wanting it, I’d ask if you can test it before buying.

“like new condition” is the biggest flag. most likely there are some damages (surface and/or otherwise) that probably won’t give him his money back. i would ask for testing first and foremost and in a safe meeting place.

Facebook marketplace? Yeah most likely a scam.

That’s a PC, not a laptop, be aware you’re getting a box with monitor.

Make sure the PC is included

Could be a scam, I’d much rather just pay the extra 400 and get a new one of these from Costco.

Nah it looks legit. I actually found a new cyber power built with a 4080 super for $1k lol. Deals are out there

CPU and GPU alone costs a total of around $1350. Looks like around a 20% off a brand new diy build with same specs, which is pretty good, but not something that surely will be the best bang for your buck compared to new releases in 2025 (talking about the rumored rx 9070 xt). Up to you

when was his facebook made if it says 2024 then def a scam

Worth be careful

Fell off the back of a truck, don’t worry about it.

Usually if they want to meet in person it’s not a scam. Bring a buddy, boot it up. Pay the guy, profit

Costco’s return policy is insanely good. If this guy bought it there then there is no reason not to just return it. Smells fishy.
