Does my laptop have a Virus?

These days, I’ve been getting games from purportedly safe sites (yeah, becoming a pirate because paychecks don’t help here).

Long story short, my windows defender informs me there is (action recommend), but it won’t open; it gets caught on the loading screen and closes later or just stuck. So, what are the next steps for an HP support assistant (I have an HP Victus)? I’m now running (Microsoft Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool).

And while I wait for the results, if anyone knows of a better application or solution, please let me know. Thank you!

Run norton power eraser, kaspersky virus removal tool, emsisioft emergency kit, malwarebytes, adwcleaner, hitman pro and eset online scanner. Send SS of results.

dude you can’t trust any dodgy repacks or games from torrents. don’t listen to anyone say otherwise. these are russian or chinese cybersecurity dudes who do it in spare time.

never turn off your firewall or av to install software or games! also defender is only enough if use common sense.

if you want to be 100% certain you need to completely wipe windows. even if you use retail security suite it may not detect everything once you press .exe on dodgy file.

Use a USB device to transmit essential data, but keep in mind that malware can spread between drives.

Read threads on Reddit; there are repacks where folks experienced problems with Cyberpunk and a few others.
