Was this the G752? I had the G751, the previous model, and absolutely loved it.

I’m keeping it for nostalgia and to show my kids what gaming laptops looked like back in the day!
I have a refurbished version with a GTX 1070. It’s upgraded with 3TB of SSD, 32GB RAM, and a brand-new battery. Even threw in Windows 11 and used some high-quality thermal paste for the CPU and GPU. It still looks and runs like new, but I’ve been too depressed to list it for sale. Might put it on eBay soon.
I had an Asus ROG G750JW second-hand. It lasted 7 years before oxidation and lack of maintenance killed it.
RIP to the old boy. It served you well. I’m still hanging on to my Lenovo IdeaPad Y700.
We’re retiring our 965M laptop soon too! The Ryzen models with better iGPUs make me appreciate how far integrated graphics have come.

I’m upgrading to the Ally with the Z1 Extreme Ryzen chip. Can’t believe it’s as powerful as this massive old laptop!
The bezels on older laptops were so thick! But using a gaming laptop for 8 years without major issues is definitely a win. You got your money’s worth!

No major issues, except the battery. After the first replacement, it stopped charging again last year. I couldn’t unplug it, or it would shut down immediately.

I had a few MSI and Gigabyte laptops that only lasted 2 years. Customer support was awful. Glad to hear yours held up so well.
My MSI Ghost Pro with an i7 and GTX 970M is hanging on, but the CPU fan’s busted. Deciding whether to get a work laptop and a Steam Deck or just go big with another gaming laptop.

You can dock the Ally and use it like a PC with a keyboard, mouse, and screen!
Mine’s still going strong after traveling the world. It’s a tank!
