I am in the market for a new gaming laptop. This gadget will primarily be used on my bed or on my knees, and I’d like to know if others have found them too awkward to use in that manner. Thanks.
I’ve been using 17-inch laptops for years, and to be honest, I don’t find gaming laptops of that size particularly portable. I mostly use them around the house. Throughout the year, it leaves the house only a few times.
However, they are no longer as hefty or bulky as they were ten years ago.
Thanks, I wasn’t actually planning on taking it out of the house. Would it still be okay on your knees on the sofa or laying on the bed?
Personally, I wouldn’t use them on the bed or your legs without some sort of tray. They can get heated on your legs or get hidden by bedding, reducing airflow. The cooler your laptop stays, the better
I take my laptop Titan 18HX to work every day, and with a good backpack, it doesn’t bother me too much despite being a pretty big laptop, but it’s only a 5-minute walk, which I’ve carried for longer lengths of time, and it’s still acceptable. I only use my lap for viewing movies or YouTube, not for gaming, as I don’t want my legs and family jewels to get burnt .
I have a 16 inch laptop, and I would describe it as portable the same way people call 14 inch laptops portable. I need something bigger, possibly 20 inches.
