"Gaming" laptop that arrived today

I just got a new laptop and I think it’s awesome for gaming despite some unusual specs for a gaming machine.

2k fps on excel :fire::fire::fire::fire:

I was initially going for a Legion but ended up with a refurbished Thinkpad. It packs 4080 tier graphics, handling most games smoothly.

What are the full system specs?

It’s equipped with an RTX 4000 Ada, i7-13850HX, 32GB DDR5, 2TB SSD, and a 16 inch 4k OLED display.

If the laptop cost under $500, consider getting a new one instead of replacing the screen. Alternatively, you could use it with a cheap external monitor.

I’m on a tight budget, so I’ll probably just go with whatever’s cheapest.

@Jai
You should compare the price of a new laptop screen with that of a cheap PC screen and see which is more cost-effective.

Thanks! Do you think it’s something I could replace myself, or should I get a professional to do it?

@Jai
It depends on the laptop model. Some are easier to open and repair than others.

@Jai
Check iFixit for a guide. They might have a step-by-step tutorial for your laptop model.

Nice wallpaper choice!

Haha, thanks, it was an unexpected upgrade at airport security!

Hope you manage to fix it. If no solutions come up online, maybe take it to a service center.

@Harlem
Looks like it’s the LCD. I’m planning to buy a replacement and have my mom help me install it. :pray:

You took that so well. I would’ve been devastated! :joy:

@Sloane
It happened a while ago, so I’ve had time to accept it. But yeah, it was a shock at first!

Always with the airport security, right?

You’ll need to replace the LCD, which might be pricey.
