This 3080 should be performing closer to the 4070s, but it seems it’s installed with a max-Q BIOS limiting its power.

Referring specifically to this laptop based on its model and scores, it performs like a 4060 but with double the VRAM for just $230. Definitely a steal.

Outside of benchmarks, even a low power 3080 generally outperforms the 4060 in real-world gaming, especially at higher resolutions due to its wider memory bus.

Exactly, and most games requiring more VRAM for higher resolutions will benefit from the 3080’s 16GB, especially with ray tracing turned on.

True, but remember, lower texture settings can reduce VRAM usage significantly, and most games are still playable on GPUs with 6GB VRAM.

You might see better performance with older NVIDIA drivers. It could be worth a try.

With 16GB of VRAM, that laptop should handle future game releases without any issues, unlike the 8GB models.

You guys are lucky. Used RTX 3050 laptops here in the Philippines usually cost around $700.

It’s the 115W version according to tech specs.

It can actually run up to a full 165W TGP with the right settings.

According to the specs, this RTX 3080 is a lower TDP version at 115W, which explains the lower benchmark scores.
