I am getting only 30 fps in GTA 5; it's an Acer Aspire 7 with an RTX 3050 4GB graphics card (Indian version)

I bought this laptop 6 months ago, and it’s only giving me 30 fps. I feel like it’s running smoothly, like 60+ fps, but it’s just not showing that.

It’s probably because it’s the Indian version.

LMFAO, I approve this as an Indian! img

Was your laptop plugged in while playing?

Yes.

You might have a limited fps cap; your GPU usage is at 35%.

The battery is set to balanced mode.

Switch it to high performance. Also, ensure your laptop is plugged in properly. Check both your in-game settings and Nvidia control panel settings. Update your GPU drivers too; download the Nvidia GeForce Experience app, which can help optimize your game settings.

How can I fix it?

Check the Nvidia control panel for any fps limit, and see if the game has a frame rate or V-Sync limit.

@Zion
The max frame limit is off.

Uncap the fps in the game settings.

The game has a built-in graphics settings option that caps the fps; check if it’s set to 30.

There are really only 2 or 3 possibilities:

  1. You’re using the integrated GPU (iGPU), which might be showing incorrect usage.
  2. You’re using the correct GPU but it’s power limited (wrong performance mode or not plugged in).
  3. You’re using the right GPU, but there’s an intentional frame cap set (like a max fps cap).

The third option is the most intriguing since it has the most variables to check. It could be in-game settings, GPU software settings, or a third-party tool (like MSI Afterburner). One common issue with Nvidia is the GeForce Experience software’s Quiet Mode settings, which limit performance to keep the GPU quiet and extend battery life when not plugged in. That’s often where the problem lies.

What do you mean by ‘Indian version’? Do GPUs have different versions based on the country?

Indian versions come with curry instead of thermal paste.

Our laptops also make a tunak tunak tun sound whenever you boot them.

@Onyx
Every time you click on ‘Send an Error Report,’ it just saves a .txt file on your desktop.

Lmao, best comment.
