That is obviously satire

You really need someone to tell you that a grandparent is not going to create a throwaway account to make a post on r/GamingLaptops asking for advice?

@Payton
I know the jokes about “convince my parents to buy me this” but what if Danny made it first and told her how to use it

It’s a troll post bro

Seriously though, I’ve been eyeing this deal and it ends today. Does anyone think the price could get lower when the 5000 series gets launched? It’s either wait however many months until then or just buy this one. Total price with tax is about $2700 for a 4090 seems like a good deal

@Joss
Probably not, look at prices on 3000 series laptops they didn’t really drop much particularly the 3090 and 3090ti but this deal has been coming up and down all year

But also 5000 series laptop GPUs might not be out until the end of next year possibly even 2026 based on some rumors

@Joss
I would wait until next spring or summer unless you need one now.

All the comments should have been like

Nah to run Microsoft Word you need at least 64GB RAM I’m sorry this is useless. You could get him a Chromebook though those are incredible for school.

I had to run with two RX 7900XTX in crossfire just to be able to post on here

@Teagan
Fr like I could barely open reddit on my browser without it crashing with my 11950x, 256gigs of ddr6 10000mhz ram overclocked to 18000mhz, 8tb of pcie gen6.0 x4 storage, x1070e proart motherboard, dual 6090 running on pcie 6.0 x16 powered by a 3200w Diamond rated PSU. You gotta get that Dell chromebook (preferably refurbished cuz new one too expensive at 100USD) with 64gb eMMc and 4tb ram at unknown (probably infinite) mhz speed, tis the only way to run Chrome smoothly, and it also comes preinstalled with that glorious ultra optimized ChromeOS, aka the dream of all PC builders.

wdym bro, I need the rtx 4090 to run ppts!

THIS is a school computer here:

@Teagan
No thats a Shitbox for old People, and 8GB of RAM are just a pain in 2024

Young People need a durable well built computer with 14 or 15’’ and a good battery life.

A Basic ThinkPad T-Series or a similar business computer from Dell or HP would do the job. Or a base MacBook Air

@Hollis
schoolwork. not games. 17" plenty of desktop real estate. 327 bux. priced for a student. for gaming? then it’s a shitbox.

For Screen Real Estate use a separate Screen at Home, it’s Just an unnecessary drag on Battery life, weight and portability.

Otherwise this Shitbox will have completely atrocious quality, shitty battery life and is slow as hell. Better buy a used ThinkPad at this Point if you only want to spend 400$ and get a new Battery for it.

@Teagan
If you are honestly trying to recommend something, it shouldn’t be this, you could get a dell inspiron with like an i3/ryzen 3 or i5 for about the same

omg people switch to fucking decaf. it’s a low cost budget $300 laptop adequate for SCHOOL SHIT. Didn’t think it would make anyone lose their mind. fuxx sakes. I’d recommend it on a GRANDMA’S BUDGET, for a grandchild’s schoolwork. Did that sink in or we still sharting our pannies?

@Teagan
That did in fact sink in but still, you can in fact, get a better school laptop for the exact same. If you get some random no name brand you wont be able to get any good support, with a branded laptop you could also get support
