Need to get my brother a laptop for productivity but he also games a lot, so I want to know if this is good? Thanks for the feedback
It’s a pretty good 1080p gaming laptop. I picked one up for $699.99 in November and added a 2TB NVME to it, as 512GB is comically small for anyone who wants to play modern games. It’s not a powerhouse, but it can play modern games. If you can find one with more RAM or a larger SSD for about the additional cost, I’d go for that. If not, he’ll be happy with the LOQ.
@Emory
Could you share the specs you got? I’m confused about which one I should get. Does it have a secondary slot? I don’t need to remove the 512, right?
That doesn’t have integrated graphics, which means battery performance will suck.

How can you tell?

By checking the CPU.
Please reconsider before buying an LOQ; it has a motherboard problem. For details, go to r/LenovoLOQ. There have been many victims of the LOQ.

Can you find a 4070 laptop that is cheap like that? Not all brands are perfect; I guarantee people will choose this over MSI Katana or HP Victus.

The batch with faulty motherboards has mostly sold out, if I’m not mistaken.
Yes, it’s a really good deal, but you should probably add an external hard drive, because 512GB is ridiculous. 1TB is good and enough, but you might need some extra space.

Lol yeah, I can get about 6 games installed at a time .
[Link to better laptop]. This is better, but I don’t know your budget.

I wouldn’t base my decision solely on the mobile issue if you’re okay with using a warranty service. You might have issues; you might not. You never know.
Yep, I just got one with an Intel i5 13th Gen for the same price, and I’m loving it! Check B&H Photo; they have the best deals on LOQs.
I think this one doesn’t have an iGPU, so I wouldn’t recommend buying it since they have motherboard issues and poor battery life.
I got mine 2 months ago; it’s been doing a good job, running everything on high or near high graphic settings. Battery life is 2 hours without gaming or extensive work. Decent heat dissipation. No integrated CPU means the GPU is going to be stressed; I don’t know how long that is sustainable for a laptop like this, but so far it feels like a worthwhile purchase.
People should avoid LOQ laptops. Instead, consider Victus models for the same price and better quality.
[Link to another laptop]. $50 cheaper, same GPU and has a CPU with an iGPU (so good battery life as well).
