Depends on what you want to do with it. The 4070 gives about 20% more performance in gaming at 1080 and that difference increases at higher resolutions. So if the price increase is less than 20% and you have the money, definitely get the 4070 as it’s the better value. The 4070 also has 50% more CUDA, tensor, and RT cores than the 4060, so if you’re doing anything that takes advantage of those, there is a very noticeable performance difference. Reddit gets hung up on VRAM and that a 4070 doesn’t have more than a 4060, but that’s not the complete story when it comes to performance.
I would keep an eye out for open box 4070. That’s how I got mine. HP Omen for $899.
