It won’t keep up with AAA games.

It depends. It can run many current and upcoming AAA games but likely on lower settings. Playing at low res and barely hitting 60 FPS might not qualify as ‘keeping up’ for some people.

Can you give some examples?

Black Myth Wukong, Alan Wake 2, Starfield, Last of Us Part 1, Jedi Survivor, and many others.

Any heavy title in 2023/2024. For example, Stalker 2 will likely run below 20 FPS. For new AAA games, you’ll need to configure settings to low for smooth gameplay. Don’t expect it to handle something like GTA VI well.

Don’t let the downvotes get to you. Enjoy your laptop and focus on what makes you happy!

None of the games you mentioned are demanding AAA titles. Your laptop is fine for those games, but it won’t handle more intensive ones well.

Honestly, I’m just happy to play the games I dreamt about as a kid.

@Harlan
That’s great! It’s all about enjoying what you have. But I have to ask—are you still pretty young? Fortnite, Roblox, and Minecraft seem like a classic younger combo.

That doesn’t necessarily mean they’re young. People of all ages enjoy these games. Let’s not stereotype based on game preferences.

@Harlan
Congrats on playing your dream games! Your laptop is a decent deal for that price, especially in the EU. Enjoy it, and worry about upgrading later.

If you’re talking about running AAA games at 1080p low settings, barely hitting 30 FPS with DLSS, that’s not really ‘keeping up.’

He can’t even run half of the AAA games released last year.

As long as you’re happy, that’s what matters. But for reference, demanding AAA titles include Black Myth Wukong, Stalker 2, and Cyberpunk with Ray Tracing/Path Tracing.

Depending on where you live, you could’ve gotten a 7535HS with an RTX 4050, 16GB RAM, and a 512GB SSD for around €600, open box or refurbished.

An RTX 2050 in 2024? That’s not great value.

What AAA titles are you referring to? Even for older games, you’d need to make major compromises in graphics quality. The 2050 isn’t built for AAA gaming.

This laptop might be outdated by today’s standards, but if it works for the games you play, that’s all that matters.

The RTX 2050 can keep up as long as you’re okay with 1080p, medium settings, and DLSS. It’s not future-proof, but if you enjoy it, that’s what counts.
