I’m considering purchasing the Legion 7i for $1600. It features an RTX 4070 GPU and comes with 16GB of RAM. I’m weighing its value against other laptops in the market. Is this a competitive price for its specs or should I look for something else?
That’s not a good deal for a 4070 laptop with only 16GB of RAM.
Here’s a link to a better-spec’d model at a lower price: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1817993-REG/lenovo_83dg00d8us_16_legion_5i_gaming.html

This one offers better value for the money.
@Zane
I’m leaning towards the 7i for its premium build, even if the performance specs are a bit lower. I value build quality and feel, and the lighter gaming I do doesn’t require top specs.

Understood, the 7i is a great machine if you’re looking for that premium feel.
@Zane
Thanks for understanding!
Also, considering the superior cooling system in the 7i, it’s a crucial factor for laptops and can justify the higher price.

Check out Microcenter for the 7i pro with a 4080 and 32GB RAM for $2100. It’s a significant discount and might be worth the extra cost for you.
It seems reasonable, but I’ve seen some crazy deals on this forum that might skew my perception.

I’m holding out for a $500 open box deal on a 4070 or 4080!

Wow, I paid €1200 for my current setup.
I plan to upgrade the RAM later. Also, spending $400 more for the 32GB version doesn’t seem worth it to me.

Then it sounds like you’ve made your decision!

The price seems fair for what it offers. Legion laptops are known for their quality, but you might find better deals if you wait.
Yes, it’s worth it for a premium laptop with those specs.
I snagged mine for $1,400 refurbished. It’s worth checking for discounts and coupon codes to lower the price further.
It’s a good deal, especially since you can upgrade the RAM yourself if needed.

Right, and upgrading RAM isn’t too costly, so you could always enhance it later.
If you prioritize a premium experience and solid performance, it could be the right choice.
