Is there a significant difference between the i9-13900HX and the i9-14900HX that makes it worth spending extra?

I’m looking for advice not just for gaming, but also for productivity tasks like editing.

There’s not enough difference to justify a big price jump. Just go with the i9-13900HX.

Yeah, exactly. It’s called the “Raptor Lake Refresh” for a reason. The improvements aren’t huge, so just stick with the i9-13900HX.

That’s true :+1:. Some laptops with the i9-14900HX might be better overall due to improved screens, new designs, better cooling, and additional features. For example, the Titan 18HX is a significant upgrade over the GT77HX, even tho it’s still using the newer CPU.

The i9-14900HX is essentially a slightly improved version of the i9-13980HX, which is only a small step up from the i9-13900HX.

If you’re going to spend more, it’s better to invest in a better GPU or screen rather than just upgrading the CPU. :pinched_fingers:
