What are your thoughts? Is this laptop good for gaming, or should I look elsewhere?
For gaming alone, Predator Helios Neo and ROG Strix are better, but for overall/daily use, Legion is a better choice.

Better cooling systems.
Solid choice for gaming, especially if it’s running the 14900HX CPU.
I think I saw a laptop for $800 at Best Buy with a Radeon 7700s GPU, which is comparable, if not better. Haven’t used it yet, though, because my girlfriend says it’s an Xmas gift!

I saw the LOQ for $699. I’m torn between getting that or the Legion.

The one with the Radeon 7700s is probably the ASUS TUF A16.

I haven’t opened it yet—my girlfriend insists I wait until Christmas. From what I’ve read, though, the 7700s performs somewhere between a 4060 and 4070.
Not sure about that Intel chip, but everything else looks good.

Are you referring to the ‘5i’? That’s just the Legion model name. Intel chips like the i9 are solid performers.

There were issues with high voltage degrading some chips, but Intel has mostly resolved that. Some people are still wary.
