Is this much bending on the keyboard deck safe while opening the lid?

The only way to improve it is to over-tighten the bottom screws, but I already have cracks around two screw holes.

Same issue with my TUF laptops. Nothing to worry about, just be gentle. Mine lasted 3 years without breaking.

It will likely break eventually. The hinges use metal inserts that are pressed into the plastic chassis, which can fail. If you can, open the laptop and loosen the hinge screws a bit.

Don’t over-tighten the screws. Just open/close it gently. Over-tightening causes cracks, as you’ve seen.

My 2021 TUF A15 is a tank, though the hinges are definitely the weak point. Still, it’s going strong!

Pretty typical for non-metal laptops. Best to open it with a finger in the center and slowly. Saw a MacBook screen shatter once because someone tried to open it all the way back like a 2-in-1.

Engineers calculated just enough material for it to last… until you probably want a new one. So, yes, it’s safe.

Calculated to last just as long as the warranty, no more. /s

The screws inside holding the bracket might have come loose. Try checking them if you open it up.

Don’t overtighten; just be careful when opening it.

It was built like this, so yes?

I don’t remember if it bent like this when I first bought it. After reopening it multiple times, I’m unsure.

I checked mine, and it doesn’t bend at all.

High-end products can still have design flaws.

True. Fast, expensive, and often fragile. Marketing plays a big role!

If it flexes that much, maybe slow down opening it. Don’t get too excited!

Always open the lid from the center.

My laptop stays open 90% of the time; I just use the power button. Is that bad?

Did the same, but now some keys are acting up. Dust and pet fur probably got in, and nothing seems to help.
