The first thing you should do is put it on a table and avoid placing it on beds, mattresses, blankets, etc.

Thank u
I have done that
I see you have a Victus
Tell me more
I literally dont know how to handle this beast

@Kasey
Well, it’s not much different from any other gaming laptop. The basics you should do are update drivers, update the Omen Hub, and keep in mind that HP has a known issue with hinge problems… My model is sturdy but still, open it evenly in the center of your monitor. I also ran a Windows 11 debloat script from a GitHub page.

Why is it bad?

It is bad because it completely blocks the air intake. Additionally, beds and blankets have micro dust, hair, lint, etc., which can get inside the system and block airflow over time, increasing heat buildup.

@Cody
Thanks for the info. Is there something I can use to be able to use the laptop on the bed?

Buy a foldable table you can place it on, along with a game mat that you clean regularly so dust doesn’t accumulate on it. Alternatively, I use a speed-type mouse pad instead (not sure if this is the recommended way, though).

Obligatory don’t use it on your bed comment.

You can semi-bypass this law by placing it on top of a hard surface and not directly on the blankets.

Keep it off soft surfaces like bedsheets.

Use it on hard surfaces like tables as you want to maximize airflow into the laptop and keep temperatures under load as low as possible within reason.

Anyone know how to reinstall Windows on this laptop? I tried doing it through USB, but it’s not working.
