Just bought this bad boy. Any tips?

Nice! Take very good care of it, and congrats!

Wow, it’s really shiny! Definitely eye-catching.

If the RAM wasn’t soldered, I’d consider buying this model over the Legion.

It’s 32 GB and runs at ~7500 MT/s.

Does the TUF A16 have soldered RAM?

Yes, it does. Apparently, that’s due to the new processor. I don’t think they make versions without soldered RAM.

This looks so clean compared to older TUF models; I love it!

That’s actually why I chose the TUF. I wanted a laptop that didn’t have overly aggressive gaming aesthetics. The Zephyrus was a contender, but it was too pricey where I live. This one fits the bill because it looks less like a typical gaming laptop and is pretty light, which is a plus.

@Nico
Honestly, modern gaming laptops are becoming more sleek and clean instead of the overly flashy designs from years past (like Lenovo’s laptops and the Zephyrus you mentioned).

How much did you pay for it?

Around $1700. I know it’s pricey, but it seemed reasonable considering I live in Southeast Asia.

In the MyAsus software, there should be an option to set a maximum battery percentage limit of 60% or 80% while plugged in. I’d recommend enabling that.

I was just looking into that! I recently read about the 80-20 rule for electric vehicles and was curious if that applies to other batteries too. Why do you suggest enabling it?

@Nico
If you’re using the laptop while it’s plugged in all the time, it’s best to limit the battery to 80% to help prolong its lifespan.

Consider getting rid of MyAsus and similar software. Try using G-Helper instead.

I assume you mean Armoury Crate? I need to check out G-Helper before I mess anything up.
