Just got a killer deal …

Been looking on FB and eBay for over a month and finally snagged this. ROG Strix G18 with a 4080 and i9-13980HX for $1000.

Super excited!!!

Wow, you got a ROG 4080 laptop for the price of a typical 4060 laptop :joy:

I’ve been scanning FB marketplace and eBay for about 8 weeks. You just have to stay persistent, and eventually, you find these gems.

@Haze
That’s amazing! I found a similar deal but with an Xbox 360 slim, got it for $40 with two controllers, battery packs, and six games including Minecraft, GTA5, and Fallout New Vegas.

I paid $3400 for mine, slightly better specs but man, you got an incredible deal! Kudos!

That’s an incredible deal, enjoy it! Grabbing a good deal on used or open box 4000 series laptops is the smart way to navigate the market until the bigger sales later this year. The price to performance ratio still holds strong against newer models.

@Jess
Appreciate it! The deal was so good I was a bit skeptical at first. One RAM module isn’t working, but with the money saved, I don’t mind replacing it. Excited to have snagged this before any price hikes!

That’s an insane deal, wow!

For $1000, I would’ve jumped on that deal too!

Enjoy it, it’s a fantastic machine!

That’s a beauty, enjoy it :wrench::100:

I’ve been hunting for a deal like this on 4080 laptops. You’ve struck gold, and I’m here just feeling jealous. How did you manage to trust it wasn’t a scam?

Always do face-to-face pickups. I check the laptop’s condition and run a quick diagnostic test before payment. For online deals, I ensure the transaction is protected, and the product description is thoroughly vetted.

@Haze
Smart move. I’m always a bit wary about meeting up, given the risks.

Absolutely, safety first. I meet in public places like coffee shops or at designated safe trade spots, often at police stations.

Strix is awesome :sparkles: I have the G16 i7 4060

Also, after updating all my drivers, my 4080 shows it has 20GB of RAM… Any thoughts on what might be going on?

Might be a faulty RAM stick?

Run some benchmarks to verify the RTX 4080 is genuine and functioning as expected.

Smart choice, welcome to the club, buddy!
