Lenovo Refuses To Honor Price Match Policy

I’d like to buy a Pro 7i 4080 from Lenovo. They have it for $2499 on their website: https://www.lenovo.com/us/members/barnesnoblegold/en/p/laptops/legion-laptops/legion-pro-series/lenovo-legion-pro-7i-gen-9-16-inch-intel/83de005cus

Microcenter has the exact same thing for $1999 https://www.microcenter.com/product/678426/lenovo-legion-pro-7-16irx9h-16-gaming-laptop-computer-platinum-collection-eclipse-black

I asked Lenovo to honor their price match guarantee which says they will match it. They refused because of bloatware:

“Maria R.Advisor message: I checked and it is not possible to do price match as theirs has this add ons
Microsoft Office 365 30-Day Trial
McAfee LiveSafe 30-Day TrialAdvisor and ours has 3months xbox pc game pass”

So they are using lousy add on trials of software to weasel out of their own policy! They have a better return policy so I’d prefer to order direct, but they really are annoying.

Super frustrating. What a lousy company. It is a shame, they make what seems to be a good product but they are slimy business people.

Buy from Microcenter or BH

BH has horrible return policies so I refuse to buy from them. Microcenter I will probably buy from, but I have to drive to it to get the machine, which is annoying.

@Thayer
$500 is worth the drive. Plus people in MC are very nice. I’d support them any time I can

@Thayer
I returned my legion 7i pro like 3 times in a row to BH for singular dead pixels lol. I know they have a garbage reputation, but at least for me, I had no issues.

Actually yeah that sucks I’m sorry. I get that it’s not the exact same offer but it’s nearly identical. That 3 months of game pass isn’t worth $500.

If you’ve got a Costco membership, I just bought an MSI Raider A18 (ryzen 9 7945hx with 4080rtx 12GB memory on that, only 1TB SSD but an easy swap out from what I’ve heard) for a base price of $2099, after taxes and fees it came to close to $2400. But with Costco you get a 90 day electronic return policy for free. They have different laptop packages too for the MSI raiders. I like Legions a lot though fwiw, so that’s a bummer still.

Lenovo is so shitty. They are lucky the laptop isn’t

I never take price match policy seriously. The concept itself makes no sense since a retailer can easily mark down prices at a loss to clear.

Why not just buy it from Microcenter?

I would welcome a microcenter to inhabit the corpse of frys electronics in my state.

Probably because less than half of the states even have one, with half of those states only having a single one. They mentioned having to drive so they more than likely live far from their MC.

I don’t have any help with the price match but check the Lenovo sellers on eBay, they often have deals on there that aren’t on their website. In fact, I got that exact same laptop for around 1900 earlier in the year.

Keep an eye on microcenter. I got the Lenovo Legion 7i with a 4090, 32 gig of ram, 2 1tb ssd for $2100

you dodged a bullet. Had you had any issues with it as soon as you got it you would be saddled with warranty repairs, and not returns. You have less freedom with direct buys.
