Seeking the Best 'Worst' Laptop Brand for Gaming Within Budget

Hello. I’m planning to buy a gaming laptop before the year ends. Each time I find a model that fits my budget and specs, I discover issues related to the brand—like Acer’s screen bleeding, Lenovo’s motherboard issues, or HP’s wobbly screens. Given this, could you recommend the ‘best worst’ laptop brand that could work for me? My budget is around $850 (or Php 50,000), and I’m looking for at least an H processor and RTX 3050 4GB. Thanks!

In my experience, MSI often has poor quality control and design flaws, particularly with their hinges.

Have you had any problems with your HP Omen?

No issues with my HP Omens from 2018 and 2022.

@Finley
My 2019 Omen has been very durable.

HP has been reliable for me. My Omen from early 2020 is still performing well.

I agree about MSI, I don’t trust their quality.

I’ve had a good experience with my MSI Alpha 15—no hinge problems and good overall performance.

My MSI Raider GE76 has excellent build quality and has been very reliable.

I used an MSI GE62 until its battery and fans wore out after 4 years.

I’ve had good experiences with Lenovo laptops and wouldn’t go for HP again.

Agreed, I wouldn’t choose HP again.

From what I’ve seen, over-researching can lead you to find flaws in every brand. The Lenovo Legion series often comes recommended for its balance of price and performance. Check out deals on gaming laptop websites or tech review channels like Jarrod’s Tech.

In my opinion, Lenovo and Asus usually offer reliable laptops. I’ve consistently had problems with HP and Dell.

Both HP and Dell have been problematic for me.

It’s often more about the specific model than the brand. High-end models from Lenovo, Asus, and Acer are generally reliable. Avoid low-end MSI laptops due to quality issues.
