So I was considering to either buy a brand new laptop, or a 2nd hand one, what are your thoughts on buying 2nd hand laptops? Is it really worth the risk? Or should I opt for a brand new one
The seller seems like a scalper, buying mediocre items cheaply and selling them at a markup. Just a heads up.

That’s why I’m hesitant; it seems too good to be true.

Buy from private sellers, not scalpers. They’re the worst.

I’d rather buy new. You never know if there’s a problem, even if it looks great. My T480 looked good but the iGPU died suddenly.
For what purpose?

I plan to use it mainly for productivity and some light gaming.

Around $600.
@Rory
Don’t buy it. You can find better deals on eBay. Look for laptops with at least 4GB VRAM.
@Rory
You should be able to find a better gaming laptop or a mini PC with a decent iGPU for that price.
What currency are you referring to?

That’s definitely not a good purchase.

Absolutely not. You can find a new gaming laptop at that price.
Hell no.
This is not a good buy for gaming. The specs are weak by modern standards. If you don’t play demanding games, it might be okay, but it’s overpriced for what you get.

My budget is around $600. Is it better to just buy a brand new one?
@Rory
Look for laptops with RTX 4050 and 4060 in your region. You might find a new laptop around $600 with decent specs.
