I was planning on upgrading from a 4060 to a 5070 Ti, but after hearing how DLSS 4 performance looks as good as DLSS 3 quality with higher performance and less VRAM usage, it makes better sense to wait for the 60 series.
I just played Cyberpunk 2077 after it got a new patch. It enables the new DLSS rendering technique, and the difference is night and day. Less VRAM usage, better temps, and Frame Generation feels smooth with much better quality! It’s a game changer, but I wonder if all games benefit as significantly.

Oh no, I have to play it again .

You say that like it’s a bad thing Remember, they added some quality-of-life improvements in the latest update. Mods like Limited HUD, NOVA LUT, and Weather Rebalance are fantastic!

Yes, it’s time.
@Uma
How much VRAM does it use now with the new DLSS model? Can’t wait to see this in Stalker 2.

I think it uses about 10-15% less VRAM for the same settings as DLSS 3, with even better quality. There are videos by HUB or DF showing the difference.
@Uma
What GPU are you using?
Laptop 4060. This new DLSS technique is currently only available for this specific game. It will be available as a driver update soon. If your GPU supports DLSS, you can select the new technique.
@Uma
You can override it for now via NVinspector.
@Uma
I’m on RTX 4070m. Got it, thanks.
@Uma
Thanks! Just got a new 4060 laptop and I’m playing Cyberpunk for the first time now.
@Uma
I remember when Crysis was the standard… I feel old.
Saw Hitman included there; I’m satisfied.

Honestly, as much as I would rebuy the 40 series, that 12 GB of VRAM is tempting. The 4080s are going to be more expensive anyway, so I’m upgrading.
Yeah, the RTX 5070ti is a Tier 1 GPU this time, in the same bracket as 5080 and 5090. I think it will be the performance-to-value leader for this generation. Early pricing shows the G16 with AMD R9 and 5070ti starts at $1899, which isn’t bad. If you wait a bit, you might see it discounted around $1599-1699.
@Uma
I played CP77 on my 4090 with DLSS 3 frame generation turned on, and it was horrible. The input latency was really bad.
Were you using frame generation or upscaling? Because upscaling is great, but frame generation is not.
@Chen
I was using DLSS only, and it was really good. Frame Generation is also much better and more stable. I don’t normally use Frame Gen, but it seems better now. I think the latency is improved with the Reflex option.
@Uma
Curious, which card?
@Uma
Tried it with a 4060; I need to upgrade my Ryzen 5 5500.
