Upgrading from integrated graphics to a gaming laptop is unreal

I never had a PC until I got a laptop with a 4050 GPU. It feels like an entirely new world opened up to me.

Were you a console gamer before?

Nope, not even consoles. This is my first proper gaming experience.

I just moved from mobile gaming to PC gaming. Got my first gaming laptop after years of waiting, and I’m loving it!

Congrats! What’s the specs on your new laptop?

I got an ASUS TUF A15 with a Ryzen 7 7735HS and an RTX 4050. Looking for good game recommendations and maybe some friends to play with!

@Vanya
The Assassin’s Creed series (except the latest one) and older games will run great on that. Warzone is hit or miss performance-wise, but anything older than five years should run perfectly.

I’ve been playing on low settings my whole life, but I’ve saved up enough to finally get a good PC next week. Budget is tight, but I’m excited!

Good for you! You’d be surprised what you can get on a tight budget these days.

@Noel
I’m looking at an ASUS TUF A16 or a GIGABYTE G5. Leaning toward the G5 for the RTX 4050 and better storage.

If you can stretch your budget, look for deals on laptops with an RTX 4060. It’s tech sales season, so there might be good options.

@Noel
I used to game on a 2nd gen i5 laptop from 2013, playing games from the 90s and early 2000s. Upgrading to a gaming laptop recently has been a surreal experience. I’m still not used to it.

Same here! It’s so weird actually being able to run modern games at decent frame rates and resolutions.

@Noel
Exactly! Being able to play games I couldn’t even launch before is such a great feeling.

@Noel
I know the feeling. I went from an integrated GPU to a 3050 and now to a 4070. The difference is unreal.

@Noel
Congrats on the upgrade! I wish I could relive that feeling of discovering what a real gaming laptop can do.

@Noel
I started with a basic notebook for gaming, which barely worked. Then I switched to a Legion 5 Pro, and I couldn’t believe what I had been missing out on.

@Noel
Same here. Higher refresh rates completely changed the way I experience gaming.

I don’t think I could ever go back to 60Hz after experiencing 165Hz. What’s your current refresh rate?

@Noel
I used to avoid AAA games because my system couldn’t handle them. After upgrading to a Slim 5 with a 4070, it’s like playing my favorite games for the first time all over again.

That’s awesome! Going from a 1050 Ti to a 4070 must feel unreal. How long do you plan on keeping the 4070 laptop?
