Personally loving the oled screens. Hoping those continue to roll out to mid range models. Looking like OLED will be the standard in a couple years if not sooner.
40 series was very impressive at the high end but mid-to-dissapointing at midrange. So hopefully some proper segmentation this year.
I’m thinking about going for an 18 inch this time.
I unplugged from the gaming laptop stuff when 13th gen Intel came out.
Not an oled fan honestly. I love to have my laptop display on all day. It will be same technology. Not with extended longevity like tandem.
Interested in zephyrus mostly or Razer blade (almost same pricing in Europe ), hope it’s still gonna look sleek and ultrabooky. I’d rather have miniled tho but looks like it’s full of oleds or old IPS tech. Currently rocking a 17 inch 2019 legion with 250 or 300 nit IPS. Idc about performance because my 1660 ti is enough.

Hoping for more OLED screen options as well as more X3D CPUs for gaming laptops.
I have unrealistic hope for X3D laptop CPUs! AMD is murdering Intel for gaming on the desktop side at the moment, and it would be great to see it trickle down to laptops since those X3D CPUs really make a noticeable difference for FPS in games.
I’d just like to see that CPU and others X3D based ones come to more mobile laptops because the extra 3D V-cache from AMD in those CPUs makes a noticeable difference in performance for games.
The 3-D V-Cache isn’t really important for like productivity stuff and Intel still has some advantages in that area, but for gaming everyone should be wanting that X3D CPU that’s in the Asus.

I don’t THATS very likely because it will instantly eliminate their professional customer base. And we already saw just because one laptop has the x3d CPUs doesn’t everybody buys it
Since I know the 5060/5070 are going to be fairly neutered by the 8GB of VRAM for their prices, more interested in like the budget tier 5050 or the higher end stuff like the 5070Ti with 12 GB of VRAM.
I just fully expect a 5070Ti laptop to not be cheap since everyone would buy it over the 8GB 5070 laptops lol.
@Sky
I feel ya. I want to upgrade and the 5070 ti looks like the go to model for me. I’ve saved up some money but still hoping the pricing isn’t too brutal.
Movementless fans. This allow for silent laptops. It’s already confirmed to be in some dell laptops
Edit: silicon batteries. We already saw these in the new batch of Chinese phones this year and will allow for bigger batteries in the same area because silicon batteries are 20 percent denser
@Rory
Apparently this tech is not good because it gets dirty and it’s hard to clean but yeah a future with silent cooling would be a massive leap/feat of technology. So much so that it could even kill desktops outside of the performance advantage.

Unfortunally the 5050, 5060, 5070 seems to stay with 8gb… dissapointed about that if true
I heard that Nvidia is going to unveil some next gen tech that compresses textures or something meaning 8GB will be enough but who knows. I’ll be getting the 5090 regardless cos I’m a performance whore.
