Which is better?

I’m stuck deciding between an ASUS Zephyrus M16 (2023) and an ASUS Vivobook Pro 16x OLED.

M16: Core i9-13900H, 32GB RAM, RTX 4070, 1TB ssd

Vivobook: Core i9-13980HX, 32GB RAM, RTX 4070, 1TB ssd.

I’m wanting this to be my daily driver when I’m out of the house so it will be used for work(office work), school, and some gaming here and there.

Any suggestions on which would be better?

Did you just… Compare a VivoBook to a Zephyrus…?

My Zephyrus just blue-screened when I tried opening this post on it

I did because both would be good for different reasons and I’m just looking for the best all-rounder lol

Just go for the Zephyrus.
Just because they have the same GPU doesn’t mean they’re gonna output the same performance.
Unless you wanna do video editing, which would be good on the VivoBook’s OLED screen.

@Blaine
Doesn’t Zephyrus also have a good screen? The colours are usable for editing purposes right?

Zephyrus

Zephyrus
Has the best of everything there is to be compared

This is back when Zephyrus were gaming laptops, not creator MacBook clones. So take it

I have used both of them. I definitely think Zephyrus is better.

What about it made you say it’s better? Not disagreeing, just curious

On paper, they use the same or similar components, but the design and cooling performance will make the Zephyrus processor work more efficiently. This cooling design can provide advantages for long-term use in multitasking, design, and program development. Additionally, you will have a powerful gaming computer once you finish your work.

@Mal
Very good point! What about battery life on both? I mean regular productivity work.

There is very little difference, VivoBook’s battery is 96w, while Zephyrus’ is 90w. There may be a difference of half an hour between them in low power mode outside.

Zephyrus

Honestly, the Zephyrus is so wattage capped, that the VivoBook might be the right choice.
Will get similar performance even. CPU also way better it seems.

Zephyrus if you plan to game a lot but probably VivoBook if you mainly want to do video editing and/or want the number pad. Can’t go wrong with either in my opinion.

Do you need 3TB of storage? And the price for both? Budget? What you plan to use it for?

Price is around $1600 for either (refurbished) use is going to be productivity work about 60% and then gaming and some school work for the rest.

Zephyrus is better for gaming

VivoBook is better for productivity

Personally I’d choose the VivoBook, you choose what is appropriate for yours.
