When deciding between a laptop and a full desktop PC, what influenced your choice given the higher performance per dollar that PCs typically offer, including peripherals? Also, what are your general thoughts on the PC versus laptop debate?
I needed a capable computer for university and I enjoy gaming, so a gaming laptop was the logical choice for me.

I had similar reasons. I needed something portable for both gaming and work.
I enjoy the convenience of using it in bed.
I own both a PC and a gaming laptop. The laptop is incredibly handy in our compact apartment and for travel, especially with my frequent work trips.

That’s impressive! I assume you’re equipped with a high-end desktop too, if your laptop sports a 4080.

Actually, I went with an AMD 7900XTX, which was a steal at 780 euros!

That’s a great deal! I opted for the 4070 Super for 609 euros due to its lower power consumption, and it came with a game bundle, which was a nice bonus.

You’re well set with DLSS support. It’s a solid setup.

So far, VRAM hasn’t been an issue for most games, thankfully.

That’s a fantastic price for our region!

It’s the MSI Ventus 2X OC edition. It’s almost like having a 4090 laptop but much more affordable. Laptops in general are pricey, which is why I upgraded the SSD in my Victus 15 for better performance.
I don’t have enough space, and I prefer not being confined to a specific area. I’m also heading to university soon, so mobility is key.
A PC setup isn’t practical for frequent travel with work, so a laptop is essential for me.
I previously had a custom-built desktop, but with increased travel, I needed something portable. I’ve progressed through several laptops, upgrading as needed to maintain good gaming performance.
Laptops nowadays offer competitive performance with the added benefits of portability and the inclusion of high-end components like DDR5 RAM and Gen 4 SSDs, all while maintaining price parity with desktops.
@Haim
While laptops have certainly improved, they still face limitations due to power constraints, which caps their performance compared to desktops that can handle higher wattages more effectively.
I have both a desktop and a laptop. My desktop handles the most demanding games, while the laptop is perfect for gaming in bed or doing schoolwork due to its great battery life.
The mobility of a laptop is key for me. Isn’t that the whole idea of having one?

Exactly, mobility is a major factor.
