I’ve been using a cheap $70 office chair for years, I’ve never had back problems and sometimes I use it for +14 hours a day, I’m younger than what most people with back problems seem to be (+30) so maybe that’s why… I hope I don’t develop back problems later lol, I do plan on getting a nicer chair down the road
Anyways that’s what I’d recommend, I’m sure there are chair subreddits, tier lists and things like that lol, $1k USD is quite a good budget even for premium chair, you can almost get a new Herman Miller Aeron with that lol
Yes, quite a lot of good gaming chairs for decent prices. Steelcase, Herman Miller (can get EXPENSIVE), Hawort and such
I recommend looking for refurbished/used if you want to keep prices down. Got a refurbished steelcare gesture for what was a very good price in 2023, still loving it and working perfectly, rather easy on my back.
A good chair is crucial for gaming, and yet often overlooked or cheapened out on.
“gaming chair” is a marketing gimmick. i bought used “director office chair” & it last me almost 10 years. get a good office chair with support for your back, butt, neck & arm if needed. go to furniture store/ikea & try it first cause each person have different sitting posture, so pick the one most suitable for you.
I work from home and I use a drum kit stool. That’s great. Before that I had a bench.
edit: I am downvoted but that’s true and that’s really nice. I would just like a bit more firm padding.
