Is it worthwhile? I’m about to buy my first laptop, and a four-year Best Buy warranty costs $830 CAD.
Doesn’t this seem a little crazy? I was going to get the discounted Razer Blade 16 4080 for $400 off, but with taxes and warranty, it would cost me the same as a 4090 without warranty!
Actually, given ASUS and Razer’s history of warranty troubles, I’m considering only purchasing from BestBuy with a warranty. I’m likewise torn between their two goods; I don’t particularly like anyone else’s and prefer the OLED.
Otherwise, I would have agreed with you if I hadn’t been looking at the two problematic gaming computers!
Razer Blades do not have a manufacturer’s extended warranty. Only a third-party extended warranty, RazerCare or something, offered by another firm and limited to purchases made through their web store (not even official Razer stores).
Jesus Christ. A four-year, in-home next-day repair plan is available on any Lenovo Legion for $243. That’s $60 each year for them to come and fix it at your place. Best Buy is insane.
They are supposed to be a pleasure to work with. I mean, you have the questionable talent of the geek squad, but if it’s completely dead, they’ll just replace it and it’ll be a walk in, walk out situation. I’ve heard they’re the easiest to work on, although components can take a long time to arrive.
