Does he have the NVIDIA app installed? If not, install that. The app will notify you if you’re not running the most up-to-date driver and allow you to download it directly.
It’s not related to the NVIDIA app; he just needs to install the drivers.
Do all Windows updates. Go to the platform you are launching the game from and search up how to repair game files. This should help address the issue of the game not launching. Sometimes you also just have to wait a little bit, as some games take longer to launch than others.
@Storm
How can he access the repair game files option? He just re-downloaded the game, and it won’t start again. It just shows ‘loading’ then turns off, and repeat.

Google the instructions for your game launcher. It’s different for each one.
Is it the original Age of Mythology or the new one ‘Retold’? If it’s the old one, then there may be some compatibility issues with modern Windows or hardware that need solving.

At least that should be an easier fix. Good luck. Let’s hope the new install does the trick.
Haha, sure hope so, fingers crossed! Thank you
If you updated the drivers and your operating system, check the game launcher (Steam, Epic, etc.) to see if the game needs to be updated there. Finally, restart your computer. Most often, your computer must be restarted after installing drivers to fully implement them.
@Lex
He did update the drivers, downloaded the game again, followed that YouTube link someone commented here, and finally restarted the laptop after all that. Yet it’s still showing ‘loading’ then shuts off. I’m just really confused, because the game actually worked for like 10 mins before the error message I posted appeared.

First, try restarting the laptop then try launching it again. If that doesn’t work, delete the game and reinstall it.
He did all that, unfortunately. Restarted, tried launching, deleted the game & reinstalled, restarted. We’re still stuck and don’t know what else to try. The thing is that the game won’t launch, not that it crashes. It used to launch, until the drivers got updated by the NVIDIA app. After the update, it stopped launching altogether.
