He checked the laptop settings, and it shows that the version is the most updated. He downloaded the recommended version online, but it won’t run. The game ran for a few minutes, then the popup appeared. We purchased it from Amazon, with Amazon as the seller. Can someone please help us resolve this?
Open the search bar and type NVIDIA. This should pull up an app, or you might find GeForce Experience. Use whichever app appears to update your graphics drivers. Updating drivers is crucial as they support newer games and enhance performance.
@Charlie
GeForce Experience is outdated. He’ll need to use the NVIDIA app.

Alternatively, go directly to the NVIDIA driver site, download the package manually, and install it. That’s how I do it.
@Sawyer
Why? You’re missing out on other NVIDIA features by doing it manually.

What features are essential that I can’t use directly from the driver?

Features like HDR RTX, adjusting image saturation and vibrance, notifications for new drivers, automatic tuning (overclocking without issues), a good overlay, vsync options, some NIS and DLSS settings, and more. You might want to try it; there’s no harm in downloading it.
@Florian
The only thing there that might help me is the recording feature, and I don’t do that. I’ve manually overclocked GPUs for about 15 years, so I’m not keen on giving up control. The Game Pass might be worth trying if it’s not just a short trial.
@Sawyer
I downloaded it to get it. With some googling around, and it expired last year…

For someone new to gaming, maybe the ‘optimization’ feature would be useful.
@Hari
Perhaps. I guess I’m just a bit too old to trust settings to automation.

I only mentioned it because GeForce Experience installs the NVIDIA App if it’s not already installed.

No.
Does he have the NVIDIA app installed? If not, install that. The app will notify you if you’re not running the most up-to-date driver and allow you to download it directly.

Thank you! He just downloaded the app and right when it opened, it indicated that the driver needed updating, which he did. However, the game still won’t open. Is there anything else he should try?
@Nile
Hmm. Does it give any sort of error message when attempting to run the game now? If so, could you please post what happens when you try to launch it?

No, the game just won’t open; there are no error messages. I don’t know if this is the right move, but he just deleted the game and is re-downloading it. I’ll update you when it finishes, he said it’ll take about 55 minutes. But really, thank you so much! We were worried something might be wrong with the laptop.
@Nile
Meanwhile, you can update the CPU driver.

Just told him, thanks!

So the download just finished, and the same thing is happening when he tries to open the game. It shows ‘loading’ then it just closes. No error messages or anything. He did the NVIDIA update and followed every step in that YouTube video someone commented. Could you please advise us on what to do next?
