How has the laptop performed so far?

It’s been performing excellently. I’ve played Call of Duty on high settings without graphical issues, though there were some network hiccups on the server side. Marvel Rivals and various indie games also run smoothly, no frame drops or overheating. Like most gaming laptops, battery life isn’t great, so I keep it plugged in. It features a USB-C port with fast charging, which is handy, though I seldom use it since I have the Streamer X occupying that port. While I love the display, I find a 14-inch screen a bit small for gaming compared to 15.6 inches, which offers a bit more real estate. The laptop’s portability is a huge plus, allowing me to game in different settings, like when the dining room becomes my temporary gaming station.

What’s the average FPS you’re getting?

FPS varies by game and settings. For example, I get 100-120 FPS on high settings in CoD, around 100-156 FPS in Marvel Rivals depending on settings, and over 150 FPS in most indie games, especially pixel/roguelike types. I haven’t experienced significant frame drops except occasionally in CoD before shaders are fully loaded.

Can you confirm the specs? I’ve seen various configurations listed online.

Where did you get the portable monitor? It looks awesome with your wallpaper.

I found a great 240Hz portable monitor on Amazon by Intehill. I’m not sure if I can post the exact link here, but it’s available on their site.

I was going to ask about the keyboard setup, but then I saw your comprehensive gear list—awesome!

Thanks! I tried to include enough detail in the list to answer most questions, but I’m here for any further info!

Who actually uses a portable monitor with their laptop? Might as well get a mini PC. The whole point of a laptop is its built-in display.

Hey, I’m the ‘dumbass’ who does it! :raising_hand_man:. The idea is to replicate a dual-screen desktop setup that’s mobile. It’s tailored to my needs, not necessarily for everyone.

@Parker
Carrying a 15.6-inch monitor around seems counterintuitive. Why not just use a larger laptop or the built-in screen?

It’s about having the option to expand my workspace on the go. Everyone has different preferences, and this setup works best for my lifestyle.

@Parker
To each their own, but hauling around an extra screen just seems cumbersome and unnecessary to me.
