Finally retired my 12-pound beast after 8 amazing years… Intel i7 and GTX 965M served me well

I’ve got a 980M in mine, still running great.

I used to dream about getting an Alienware back then. Totally forgot how much they weighed, though!

I always admired these in stores. Funny how my mid-range laptop with a 30-series GPU outperforms it now.

I love those monster laptops with desktop GPUs. My Asus ROG with a desktop 1070 and 32GB RAM is still a beast.

I’m still using my Alienware with SLI 280Ms. It’s 15 pounds but still kicking.

I miss when gaming laptops looked unique, not like the black rectangles they are now.

You’re in the minority there. My back and my boardroom meetings don’t miss those days.

@Harley
I’m talking aesthetics, not weight! It’s not the laptop’s fault if it’s being used for purposes it wasn’t meant for.

I still use this model. It’s impossible to find a bag that fits it, though.

Same! I could never find a good laptop bag for it.

Nice. It’s so ugly, I love it.

Went from a 9-pound Dell Precision to a lightweight Gigabyte Aorus 15P. Huge difference!

Still rocking the 970M version of this laptop after 8 years. :joy:

Check the Canadian Asus website. I think the deal was until December 19th.

This reminds me of the good old days. Buying a G14 and getting an ROG Ally sounds like the deal of the year.

Yeah, that’s how I got mine! It’s the Ally Z1 Extreme, crazy good deal.

How happy are you with the ROG Ally? Did you buy it, or was it just part of a bundle?

Does that laptop really deserve an Energy Star sticker?
