Sounds like your first experience with gaming laptops’ build quality.
Just be gentle
If it’s not broken, don’t worry about it. Just use it normally.
Plastic chassis laptops like ASUS TUF will have some flex due to the leverage on the lid.
My MSI had way worse flexing. It wasn’t built well at all.
Did you check the two hinge screws inside?
Looks normal, but with cracks, I’d open/close it as little as possible. Based on the MIDI keyboard, it seems mostly stationary?
This is normal; it may break in a few years. Keep the screws loose to avoid further cracks. If the hinge area cracks, handle it with extreme care. ASUS service might suggest a full-body replacement, which is costly.
Nothing lasts long these days, so be careful. Sad how fragile portable devices can be, especially pricey ones.

True. I ended up opening it, fixing the cracked screw holes, and tightening it carefully. It’s better now.
For lubrication, you could use cooking spray or WD-40. I’ve used both.
It’s plastic, so it will eventually break. Try an aluminum laptop next time.
It’s going to break eventually. Use it while you can.

It’s just this unit.
