I ordered a G16 laptop from BestBuy as an open box item, but I didn’t expect it to be shipped with zero care—no tape, nothing to keep the box closed. It was just sitting open on my porch.
Best Buy took ‘open box’ a bit too literally this time.
Ordered open box, received open box—where’s the surprise?
It’s unacceptable for a laptop to ship without even basic sealing. No matter the contents, packaging integrity is crucial. Even with private couriers, I always ensure boxes are securely sealed.

They could’ve at least used their Geek Squad tape to secure it. It takes minimal effort to apply a couple of pieces of tape.
Really disappointing to see, especially when you invest in technology. Makes me rethink purchasing open box products from Best Buy.
Well, you bought an open box, so technically you got exactly what you paid for!
Buying open box in-store can be hit or miss, but at least you can see the item first. Shipping one without secure packaging is a whole different level of risk.
Hope it wasn’t damaged. That’s a risky way to ship electronics, especially a laptop.
You ordered an open box and received an open box—literally. Was the laptop itself at least okay?

Yes, but finding the box open on my porch while it was snowing was not reassuring.
@Dexter
Even high-value items often ship in just their retail packaging. Always good to schedule deliveries for when you’re home if possible.
Well, it would be misleading to tape it closed, wouldn’t it? But seriously, that’s poor handling on their part.
At least they were honest about it being an open box?
You ordered an open box and got exactly that. I don’t see the problem!
That’s the gamble with open box purchases.
It’s still a Dell, right? At least it wasn’t something more fragile.
It seems like you’re overreacting about receiving an open box that was, well, open.
