Should I avoid this because of the CPU?

Very tempting specs to price ratio but unsure if it’s safe(r) to get something with an Intel 13-14th gen HX CPU now or not.

The CPU is fine, bigger problem is it being an HP. If you want it get it.

Can you please elaborate on what is wrong with HP laptops? I am also considering buying one.

Shiddy build quality/design and bad thermals. I’d rather buy a Clevo. You get the benefit of it being “American” at least.

Been using HP gaming laptops for years. Not perfect but I haven’t gotten any bad mainboard like other brands.

I have this and love it.

That CPU is fine, ignore the fearmongering.

No.

People focus on the GPU, not the CPU unless you work on CPU-intensive things and use CPU-intensive software. I would go for it anyways.

Damn great price. I’d only buy that Intel CPU gen with a fully covering warranty, though.

HX = negative battery life. HP = hinge problems. If you want it, get warranty with it if it has one, if not then don’t get it.

If you don’t really care about battery life, the CPU is not a problem.

I got one of these for 950USD before tax from Best Buy on a pre-Black Friday deal and I love it. Mine’s black though. Runs Cyberpunk on high at 80+ fps and everything else I’ve thrown at it. Nice and cool. Not too loud. Especially on balanced power mode.

Personally I wouldn’t buy because HX processors equate to negative battery life. But I don’t think you should be concerned about 14th gen voltage, just undervolt it if you are trying to be safe.

Bro just throttlestop it to base clocks. Shit doesn’t need to be 120W on battery.

You should avoid it because it’s an HP. But no, CPU will be fine. Not a lot of battery life probably, but that’s to be expected.
