When you visit Best Buy to purchase a new gaming laptop

Here’s some advice: steer clear of Alienware, pushy salespeople, and maybe even New Jersey.

What’s the issue with Alienware?

Can’t wait to move out of New Jersey myself.

Once, while checking out laptops in a store, an assistant asked if I needed help. Reflexively, I said, ‘I know more than you.’ Realizing my rudeness, I felt embarrassed and later ordered online.

It’s better to be polite and just say you’re browsing. Most store employees are enthusiasts too.

At my local tech store, the staff’s lack of knowledge is astonishing. One once offered me a karaoke mic when I asked for a PC microphone.

I once assisted a young couple in choosing a monitor at Best Buy after the salesperson failed to help. They appreciated my advice, and I ended up buying the same monitor for myself.

As someone from Europe, I’ve had similar experiences with Currys, not Best Buy.

I’ve found better deals at Argos than Currys, even for similar laptop specs.

I’m tired of tech shop workers recommending subpar laptops.

That’s absolutely true in my experience too.

I always go shopping with my friend to prevent him from being misled by salespeople.

I always research before shopping to make informed decisions rather than relying solely on store employees.

It’s disappointing when stores don’t have the items you’re looking for in stock.

Most gaming laptop buyers at Best Buy know what they want; the rest might need more guidance.

I try to be polite and cooperative with store associates since many are trying their best.

If you truly knew about computers, you wouldn’t be shopping for them at Best Buy.

I pretend to know less to test whether salespeople will try to take advantage of me.

This experience is common in tech stores everywhere, not just in the US.

After gaining some knowledge about laptops, I’ve become the go-to person for advice, even over store sellers.

It’s difficult to know less than some store employees when it comes to gaming laptops.
