Ah! So your one of the 3 people on the steam polls who uses a Gigabyte laptop! Ooooo! I’m kidding, it’s just sad to see Gigabytes hardware segment in literal crumbs compared to what it used to be. If there quality is anything like it was back then, this laptop will probably die the CPU and GPU shorting themselves out before the mobo or anything else dies.

@Teal
I’ve only used their motherboards. I got a MSI monitor and it seems very nice. I ruled out Gigabyte while shopping for some reason. Same goes for my recent laptop purchase although I didn’t even want to trust MSI and I got a Lenovo lol

@Vick
I’ve got one of their GT1030s in my media center PC. my dad has an old Xeon mobo from them. It’s survived 13 years, and it’s still going strong. I really hope my GT1030 survives that long… albeit I don’t think Nvidia designed it to work for that long.

@Teal
Yeah that’s a good long life. My GA-EX58-UD3R lasted 10 years and is in the box with cpu and ram still plugged in. That one ended up with a Xeon X5650 i bought off ebay for $40. Started with i7 920

Now got Gigabyte X299 UD4 Pro since 2018. Their video cards were always out of stock or overpriced so I never got one. The dual BIOS is always handy in case the update fails. I had to update to enable support for i9 10900X.

@Teal
I’m currently using this new laptop for 4k video editing and gaming,it works pretty fine and I haven’t got any problems yet.There’s I5 version of this laptop but I chose I7 one for future proof.Build quality is not bad it gives premium feeling too.Thanks for the suggestion.

@Valen
Gigabyte has always been known for their premium products. Glad you like it.

Thank you! Sure I’ll try that out :smiley:

I hope your experience with gigabyte laptops is better than mine. The reason I returned mine was because it shut off around 30% battery life and when I googled it. It is apparently a known problem. Also it didn’t run league which it is the only game I play anymore. But if you’re fine with those issues then stick it out brother and good luck to you

@Bela
Sorry to hear that brother but I’m glad that you returned your laptop in time.This is my first Gigabyte laptop and I’ve searched the problems with mine,I didn’t find such issues for my laptop.Thank you for the suggestion brother.This one works pretty fine for me.

@Bela
Can u tell me which laptop u had? Like full name or specs
Because there is i7 version and i5 version
And im not sure if they’re the same

Hell yea, welcome to the club. I’m rocking the G5GD of like 2020. Low-key got it cheap as, and couldn’t have asked for more. Just beware of the cooling of such laptops, I unfortunately baked mine a bit during COVID with insufficient elevation for my fans during multiple prolonged sessions.

@Lesley
Thank you man !Glad to hear that.And yeah I’m always using it in my room with Air conditioner.

I think the design is not the same as well as model too.
